As we think about Vocabulary Monday, tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your favorite word and how often do you use it?

My favorite word(s) right now is 'funky fresh'. That or 'Chat'. I use both in my daily speech quite a lot actually. 'Funky fresh' is really useful for situations where you want to say "You are being irritable" or "You've made a huge not cool mistake". You can just say 'You're not being funky fresh' for any situation, and surprisingly, people will take that super seriously. You don't want to get classified as not being funky fresh. I also use it when cool beans isn't enough to describe something, hence it being funky fresh. As for 'Chat', its really useful because some people be getting really pressed when you address them as 'bro'. Chat is applicable to everyone and can be used for both one person or a group without having to change how it's used in a sentence. Very convenient.


 Today we did an independent learning sort of thing on paper of our vocabulary.

Prompt: Write about a conversation that changed you. Dec 2

A conversation that changed me was probably talking to my doctor the day my eye was taken. It was a couple days before Christmas when I was told that my cancer had come back, and my parents had to make the decision of removing or keeping my eye. To keep it meant to have the risk of my cancer escaping the eye, and into my brain, or going into other parts of my body. This was risky, and all to keep an eye that at that point didn't work anymore. Before every treatment, my doctor would always encourage me to ask questions. That's how I knew exactly how my treatments worked and such. But this time, I remember I asked, "Are you going to take my eye out?" His response is something I'll never forget, he said "No, I'm going to take out your cancer, what's hurting you." I think for a Nine year old me, that's exactly what I needed to hear, because I walked right into the operation room after that, and chose my anesthesia flavor. I don't remember muc...

Class assignment

 A time I was in conflict with a parent was a couple years ago because of piano. I sort of talked about it before, but specifically my parents would make me do concerts, which I didn't like much since I also had to sing while playing. I know they were trying to give me advantages and stuff, but it honestly made my self esteem go down and every time I see those videos I just feel bad about it. I learned that I just don't feel comfortable with that kind of thing. I eventually talked to my parents, sitting them down and telling them how I feel, which for the most part worked. My father is less involved in that stuff now because I don't let him, as he gets too intense and I don't perform well like that. I learned also that I do better if I enjoy what i'm playing, and if my parents give me just a bit of space, I find myself actually getting up and practicing by myself.
