Prompt: Easter Sunday was yesterday, a holiday full of traditions for many people. What holiday do you look forward to the most each year, and why is it your favorite? Share what you usually do to celebrate it and what makes it meaningful or fun for you." My favorite holiday is probably either Christmas or Halloween, but I enjoy Christmas a bit more with family. Usually, I'm with my family in Mexico by that time. It's always nice to connect with my family, even when they are in a whole different country, so Christmas is me catching up with them. It also helps me stay in touch with my roots, so it's not just Christmas itself that makes it my favorite. It's the fact that I can see all my family because of it.

4/22/25 Prompt: After reading The Tyger by William Blake, take a moment to reflect on the idea of creation. What do you believe is the most beautiful creation in the world—natural or man-made—and why? Describe it in detail and explain what makes it so awe-inspiring to you.

Prompt: After reading The Tyger by William Blake, take a moment to reflect on the idea of creation. What do you believe is the most beautiful creation in the world—natural or man-made—and why? Describe it in detail and explain what makes it so awe-inspiring to you. The most beautiful creations in the world are sunsets/sunrises. I think they are often overlooked because they happen every single day, so not many people really stop to look at them. However, it's really crazy to me that they happen so much, and yet they are never the same. Never have I seen the same sunset or sunrise twice, yet they are so pretty each time. I've always wanted to try and paint one, but it's hard to even begin to capture their beauty. Not to mention they are constantly changing and last for a very short while. It used to confuse me, how something so intricate can be just naturally made, the colors blended to the point you can't tell where one color starts and another ends. That sort of crafts...

4/23/25 Prompt: Write about what you remember or have been told about the day you were born. What were the emotions or events surrounding it? Do you relate more to "Infant Joy" or "Infant Sorrow"?

Prompt: Write about what you remember or have been told about the day you were born. What were the emotions or events surrounding it? Do you relate more to "Infant Joy" or "Infant Sorrow"? I've heard that my Mother always told others that she didn't want children. My Mother told me that she thought that children would limit her freedom and ability to travel, because she loved to travel. However, as she got older her perspective changed. She told me that when I was born, she didn't feel trapped, rather, she felt joy. I've been told that I didn't smile until I was two or three. I would just watch, as my Mother put it. I wasn't a difficult child, or a sorrowful child either. So I think I relate more to "Infant Joy." I don't think the world is something to fear or cry about. It can be hard, sure, but it's often more beautiful and worth living more than not.

4/29/25 Prompt: How do you find time to enjoy your day, even when you have a lot going on? Write about at least three specific things you do to enjoy small moments throughout your day.

Prompt: How do you find time to enjoy your day, even when you have a lot going on? Write about at least three specific things you do to enjoy small moments throughout your day. I find it hard to find time to enjoy my day, but I try to at least multitask. For instance, I recently have tried listening to music while doing things to make stuff somewhat more enjoyable. I also try to sit down and have dinner with my parents. Trying to keep that as a constant has been difficult, but it's proven to be worth it. Keeping that connection with my family is important to me, despite anything I've got going on. Another thing I do is to sometimes just pause and take a breath. This helps to get me back on track when there's a lot going on. I'm still figuring out more effective ways to find time, especially for things out of my control.

4/1/25

Prompt: Write about something you’ve outgrown but still miss.  Something that I've outgrown but will probably still miss is Halloween. More specifically trick or treating. It's probably the best holiday for kids for two reasons: one, you get to dress up as something you like and two you get FREE candy. You basically never get anything for free, but on Halloween kids get candy just for knocking on peoples doors. While you can dispute that you've got to walk for that candy, that's basically the best part. What's better than running around AT NIGHT with your friends? When you're a child, that type of freedom is crazy and I'd like to experience that for the first time again.

Prompt: Write about a conversation that changed you. Dec 2

A conversation that changed me was probably talking to my doctor the day my eye was taken. It was a couple days before Christmas when I was told that my cancer had come back, and my parents had to make the decision of removing or keeping my eye. To keep it meant to have the risk of my cancer escaping the eye, and into my brain, or going into other parts of my body. This was risky, and all to keep an eye that at that point didn't work anymore. Before every treatment, my doctor would always encourage me to ask questions. That's how I knew exactly how my treatments worked and such. But this time, I remember I asked, "Are you going to take my eye out?" His response is something I'll never forget, he said "No, I'm going to take out your cancer, what's hurting you." I think for a Nine year old me, that's exactly what I needed to hear, because I walked right into the operation room after that, and chose my anesthesia flavor. I don't remember muc...

Prompt: Write about what you did over the Spring Break. Apr 21

Prompt: Write about what you did over the Spring Break.    Over the spring break, I went to a weekend camp for kids with cancer with my Mom, cousins ,and Aunt. It was from Friday to Sunday, but other than that I mostly slept during the break. However, My birthday happened on the break, so my father took me to go buy antique books. Then me and a friend went to a bunch of abandoned structures to take pictures, and we ended the night off by going to McDonalds to get the Minecraft movie meal. It was definitely better than the last break, because it wasn't as stressful.
